Rice Water Rinse
Rice Water
You may or may not have been following my hair journey on Instagram, for those that have please continue and for new followers hey boo!
Ok so first of all I am not claiming that rice water was the only contributing factor to my amazing hair growth but it helped tremendously.
Rice water promotes healthy hair growth and improves the condition of damaged hair, whilst also maintaining healthy hair.
When making your rice water, the rice undergoes a fermentation process. During this process substance called ‘ pitera’ is formed.
Pitera is known to promote healthy cell regeneration to maintain healthy hair & Skin.
Pitera contains vitamins, amino acids, organic acids and minerals which are all amazing for hair.
So lets go
Though Rice water can replace your actual hair conditioner, I have dry hair so I used a hair mask after my rice water application. This is optional you know your hair and whether it needs more moisture after the application.
How to make rice water
1 .Application – Soaked Rice Rinse
Wash hair with sulphate free shampoo & rinse
Pour rinse water onto hair
Ensure hair is saturated
Pop on your shower cap / cling film wrap and allow to sit for 20 – 30mins
Rinse with cool water and style
2.Application – Fermented Rice Rinse
Repeat steps 1 – 3 from the previous method
Leave rice for 24 – 48 hours to ferment at room temp.
Then strain into a container
The fermentation method takes a little longer so I usually make a batch and store it in the fridge as this stops the fermenting process. This also means that I have a rinse on hand for the next month of rinses.
3.Application – Boiling Rice rinse
Boil ½ a cup of rice with 2x the amount you would use to cook with, boil for 20mins and strain the liquid.
And proceed with the application on the hair as above
Benefits
Increases shine
Promotes hair growth
Hair is smoother
Helps to detangle hair
That’s it dolls, give it try and let me know how you get on.
